Tequilas Mexican Restaurant in Mount Carmel

I've seen several people complain about this restaurant, but my family and I never have any complaints. The food is always really good and they are really fast to get the food out to you. I do feel that you get slightly less food in take-out orders, but the food you do get is still really good.

Tequila's Mexican restaurant was a great Hidden Gem in a tiny town. We were in town for a funeral and decided to stop in and check out their food they were extremely packed but the quality of food was wonderful you must. They have several locations in Southern Illinois and one here in southern Indiana cannot wait to check that one out. The salsa and chips we're fresh and the chips were hot almost everyone clean their plate I did not because I swear my dinner should have had a sign on it this serves two or three. I will be posting a picture it was called Volcan it was a tasty treat of all the meats cooked into a lava rock Bowl cannot wait to try this one again.

Good food. Good service. This would have been 5 stars but it's in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.

A frequent lunch stop for me. Haven't had anything I don't like! Quick service. Good authentic Mexican. All the chips and salsa you want. I like their selection of hot sauces at every table.

The food is pretty good but not in terms of other similar restaurants. They don't wear gloves when they dip their whole hands into the buckets of salsa and cheese sauce to fill up the bowls. I also saw one of the workers hawk a loogie into the bucket of salsa. The writing in the stalls of the men's restrooms make me not want to go back there. 2/5

Food was not good husband ordered a combo that had burrito and chimichanga etc soggy and over microwaved. Nothing but bland meat in all orders. Everything is microwaved I had to send food back cold in middle. Fresh is not a thing in this restaurant. Also back of the house looks dirty. Unless you know what real authentic fresh Mexican food is you will rate this place good but it's horrible and you can tell effort in food is not put in. Will not come back. Growing up in a Latin community and trying Mexican food and making it you notice what's real and what's not what's good too. Server was rude and had stains all over her shirt. Disgusting place.

I ordered grilled chicken salad. Definitely won't order that again. Tasteless. Service was very good and they were crowded tonight. Others in my party were pleased with their orders.

This place has turned a 180 over the last few years for the better. Sometimes I get to be a creature of habit and order the same thing. The pick your own combo here doesn't disappoint. Chicken quesadilla, chile relleno, hard shell taco no lettuce with rice and beans. Perhaps the thing that makes me get into my happy place is the fact they don't skimp on your taco even though you dont get lettuce. In fact, they seem to double up on the meat and cheese to replace the lettuce which is fantastic. The help here are great as well. Very attentive to your needs and are happy to make conversation if you want. Very happy to see a hometown restaurant perform on a higher level.

Visiting from out of town chose here for dinner. Good food and probably one of the best strawberry margaritas I've ever had.Husband had the Vulcan the second visit. Already ate some of it before I thought to take the picture. Huge!

Excellent food friendly staff they make sure you have what you need but not constantly at your table i really enjoyed my visit the only suggestion would be to get a monster burrito challenge I'll gladly be the first to attempt to eat it great flavors keep up the good work y'all

The food is good and they have above average chips and salsa. They also give you individual bowls for the salsa which is a nice touch.

The bill is never correct. They always make it higher than it's supposed to be. I can order the same thing, but the bill us different every time. They have done this for years. I told my relative, watch your bill they overcharge. Guess what, they did. He told them try again. It's wrong to rip people off. They play dumb, but I know and so does God.

Really great food it's always fresh and really fast service we called and ordered steak tacos and beans&rice and french fries everything was delicious and the steak has a really good flavor.it was ready in 15 mins.

I like this restaurant. Good service very clean they get the order to you quick. It's a good place to stop if you want to go out to eat and don't want to mess with the hustle and bustle of a big crowd

Our favorite Mexican place to eat! Fast friendly and clean! You can't go wrong here, always satisfied! And one of my favorite things is individual salsa bowls! Eliminates the worries about double dipping or adding salt to the community bowl!
